Building the Structure Behind the New Bob Track at Nahoru Resort Rokytnice

When the terrain changes, the truss has to change with it.

 

The new bob track at Nahoru Resort Rokytnice required much more than a standard truss solution.

 

The track runs through several slopes, curves and changes in elevation, creating a complex structure that had to work across multiple planes. To accommodate the demanding geometry of the track, a total of 131 metres of custom truss was used across three bridge sections measuring approximately 46 m, 40 m and 45 m.

 

Based on the structural calculations, TAF standard HT34 had to be modified into a significantly more robust custom solution. The main tubes were increased from 50 × 3 mm to 50 × 4 mm, while the bracing was reinforced from 20 x 2 mm to 25 × 3 mm – creating a truss specifically engineered for the structural demands of this project.

 

The truss structure was complemented by modified steel beams, providing additional support and allowing the construction to adapt to the specific conditions and geometry of the track.

 

The result is a removable truss structure capable of following the demanding geometry of the track while providing the required support along its route.
